Wednesday May 13th

Morning Year 5,

Well done on submitting all your work using seesaw. Seesaw is our communication tool for planned zoom meetings. Please check your inbox or personal journal for these notifications. If you can, it is important you join the morning meetings with your class at 8am. It is a great way to ask any questions or talk to your classmates and a good way to start your day. A reminder about how you should turn up to a zoom meeting;

1. Be dressed appropriately (It is a virtual classroom)
2. Ideally your camera should be on so your teacher can see you
3. Find a quiet space to work in so you are not disturbed by others
4. Turn up on time to your lesson
5. Remove all distractions around you (toys, pets, TV, etc)

If you need clarification with absolutely anything please just email your class teacher during the hours of 7:25am- 1:45pm or send us a message on Seesaw.

ART

This week in Art Year 5 we are going to study all about Pop Art and the world-famous artist Andy Warhol. Pop art began in the 1950s. Pop art is a style of art based on simple, bold images of everyday items, such as soup cans, painted in bright colors. Pop artists created pictures of consumer product labels and packaging, photos of celebrities, comic strips, and animals. Go through the PowerPoint and complete your very own Pop Art. There are some templates provided for you, however, if you want to take on the Chili Challenge, try your very own with out the use of the provided templates. You may with the research your very own, or free draw and colour yours. What ever colour medium you use is totally up to you, however felts or crayons will work best. After looking at some exapmes choose your bright colours. Don't forget to upload your finished Pop Art to SeeSaw and take your time.
