Good morning Year 5,
Well done on submitting all your work using seesaw, your e-portfolio's have continued to grow with amazing pieces of work. Can I remind you to please upload your math's work after marking it with the answers made available on the blog from 2pm onwards. Please make sure you check the blog for specialist subjects like PE and Music who post their work for you on a Monday and Tuesday. If you can, it is important you join the morning meetings with your class at 8 am. It is a great way to ask any questions or talk to your classmates and a good way to start your day.
If you need clarification with absolutely anything please just email your class teacher during the hours of 7:25am- 1:45pm or send a message via Seesaw.

This week Year 5 we are learning not
just how to join up with a website/App but how to do this in a safe manner.
Next year, in Year 6 you will be required to have certain educational Apps on
your laptop and well as to be a member of many different websites. Most, if not
all of them will require you to have a username and a password. When making
these it is vital that you:
- never share them with anyone
- keep them relatively simple so you
can remember them
- always have a mix of UPPER- &
lower-case letters as well as numbers
- record them somewhere safe in case
you forget them you can find them again.
Today you are going to join BrainPop. BrainPop is an educational website with over 1,000 short animated movies for students, together with quizzes and
related materials, covering the subjects of Science, History, Geography, PE,
English, Math, Engineering and Technology, Health, and Arts and Music. Basically,
whatever your passion is, BrainPop has it!
A 2009 study was conducted by an independent research firm to determine BrainPop’s effectiveness in the third-, fifth-, and eighth-grade classrooms. It was concluded that students in classes regularly using BrainPop showed substantially greater gains in the areas of reading, language comprehension, and science than students in classes not using BrainPop.
Watch the
video below (thanks Ms. Honey) and record your username and password somewhere
safe. Once you are all set, log in and dive into the wonderful world of BrainPop.
