YEAR 5 MUSIC 28th April

VOCAL WORK

This week we have a great new song. You may already have come across Roman numerals (numbers) as they are still widely used. This fun song explains the system.

Roman Numerals

If you think you can perform this, especially with actions, post a video to SeeSaw. Make sure we can hear your voice!

Don’t forget to continue learning our other songs;

‘Robots’

‘The Coronavirus Kids Song’

 ‘We will rock you!’ (a Stone Age Song with vocals).

 ‘The Ballad of Magellan’

LISTENING TASK

This week we return to our journey through Vivaldi’s ‘The Four Seasons’ with;

Four Seasons - Autumn: 3rd Movement

Follow the video commentary as you listen to see what Vivaldi is trying to describe through music. This is another example of program music – instrumental music that tries to evokes a mood, a place, or a story.

COMPOSING TASK

Using the Chrome Music Lab Rhythm pattern tool that I introduced to you in the live lesson last week try to create your own rhythm. Can you find a drum pattern that would work as a backing to the Robot song and sing along? You might need to try different combinations of drums and beat patterns.
