Wednesday June 3rd

Morning Year 5,

Well done on submitting all your work again using seesaw. Remember we are continuing to use seesaw as our communication tool for planned zoom meetings. Please check your inbox or personal journal for these notifications.  Make sure you check the blog for specialist subjects like MFL and music who post their work for you on a Tuesday and Friday. If you can, it is important you join the morning meetings with your class at 8am. It is a great way to ask any questions or talk to your classmates and a good way to start your day.

If you need clarification with absolutely anything please just email your class teacher during the hours of 7:25am- 1:45pm or send us a message on Seesaw.

ENGLISH

During this term we are starting a new genre of writing - Persuasive Writing.
Click on the link, then watch the video below, and listen to Mrs. Reekie-Evans describe your task today.

Now that you have listened to the instructions, watch the video by clicking on the next link.

I hope you enjoyed this beautiful read. The story should have made you more aware of 'the power of persuasion' and why beautifully chosen word choice is so important.

Now complete the two worksheets to show your understanding.

Art/Design Technology

Year 5, today your task in Art is to design a Crest/Coat of Arms that represents your family. What is a Coat of Arms/Crest?

A
coat of arms is a unique design painted on a shield or a family door. These designs may be inherited, meaning that they pass from a father or mother than handed down to their children. ... Each symbol on the coat of arms will represent something that has an important meaning to that person, country, or company.

Speak with your parents and ask for their input on what you could place on your Coat or Arms/Family crest and design your very own on the template provided.
