Wednesday May 6th

Morning Year 5,

Well done on submitting all your work using seesaw. Remember we are now using seesaw as our communication tool for planned zoom meetings. Please check your inbox or personal journal for these notifications.  Make sure you check the blog for specialist subjects like PE and music who post their work for you on a Monday and Tuesday. If you can, it is important you join the morning meetings with your class at 8am. It is a great way to ask any questions or talk to your classmates and a good way to start your day.

If you need clarification with absolutely anything please just email your class teacher during the hours of 7:25am- 1:45pm or send us a message on Seesaw.

ART

This week Year 5 you are going to be combining the previous lessons on Artistic Space (perspective and close-up) and utilizing them into a piece of art. This week we are going to look at a famous Malaysian artist called Yusof Gajah. Yusof Gajah (yes, Gajah means elephant in Malay) is popularly known for his extraordinary elephant’s theme paintings, Yusof ‘Gajah’ has a successful career as an artist, and has illustrated children’s picture books with his bright, natural design.

Your task is to take on the chili challenge and produce a piece like one of Yusof's. Push yourself to take on a challenge you know will be tricky for you. Using the skills over past week, introduce close-up parts of the elephant as well as perspective parts as well. You may use paints of pencils, whatever you choose will be the correct way for YOUR elephant. Have fun Year 5!
