Reading
‘Sharing picture books with children leads to amazing conversations. In
the best picture books there is a gap between the pictures and the words, a gap
that is filled by the child's imagination.’
Anthony Browne, Children's Laureate 2009–2011
This wonderful quote lets us know how important picture books are to all ages of children. Rereading picture books from your early childhood is like speaking to an old friend. In the library at ISB, there is a Sophisticated Picture Book' section, you should go and check it out. You can make up your own story, let you imagination run wild and is an excellent way to practise your comprehension skills.
We have chosen 2 books from this section and have found links to them on YouTube - one is an animated version and one is a read aloud. We hope you enjoy.
