Thursday April 23rd

Good morning Year 5,

Hopefully you all enjoyed the activities for World Earth Day and now understand the need to look after our global environment. Can I remind you to please upload your math's work after marking it with the answers made available on the blog from 2pm onwards. A reminder there is an MFL takeover on a Friday along with a live lesson on a Tuesday at 11.10am. If you can, it is important you join the morning meetings with your class at 8am. It is a great way to ask any questions or talk to your classmates and a good way to start your day.

If you need clarification with absolutely anything please just email your class teacher during the hours of 7:25am- 1:45pm or message directly using Seesaw.

English

Figurative Language is very important when making your word choice exciting. When used properly, it can build up images and excitement within the reader's head, and can help the reader connect.
Watch the videos below, and complete the quiz with Mrs. Reekie-Evans.

Now to show your understanding, click on the link and complete the 6 examples.

TOPIC

Year 5 please remember to continue and refer back to the PowerPoint that was posted Monday. By now you should have watched the YouTube clips and taken notes about how astronauts complete day to day tasks in space. Now it is time to demonstrate your learning to your teacher. You may wish to read your research into SeeSaw, make your own PowerPoint, use the skills you learnt in I.C.T this week to make an informative Word Document with facts and images. The choices are endless. This needs to be added to your SeeSaw Journal before Monday next week, as this is when we begin out new Topic- Fairgrounds.
