Good morning Year 5,
Core Work
We are going to move away from our work on perimeter and area and review our understanding of adding and subtracting fractions. This also works into improper and mixed number fractions. Please watch the video lesson below before attempting your independent tasks for the day.
Independent Work
Please click on the link below to access your independent work for today. Remember the link to answers will appear below after 2pm so you can self mark your work and then upload it into seesaw for your teacher to look at. There is also a link to optional extension work where you will add several fractions together with different denominators.
Independent Fraction Task
Extension Task
Well done on submitting all your work using seesaw your e-portfolio is starting to come together well. Can I remind you to please upload your math's work after marking it with the answers made available on the blog from 2pm onwards. Please make sure you check the blog for specialist subjects like PE and music who post their work for you on a Monday and there is an MFL takeover on a Friday. If you can, it is important you join the morning meetings with your class at 8am. It is a great way to ask any questions or talk to your classmates and a good way to start your day.
If you need clarification with absolutely anything please just email your class teacher during the hours of 7:25am- 1:45pm.

Remember to continue with your story from Pobble
English
In Year 5, reading is all around us, and we are constantly accessing it and using it in many different ways. Along with your class novel and individual reading everyday, we would like you to choose one or more reading passages from the link below, to show your understanding of different types of texts.
Remember to answer in full sentences and show neat presentation.
As you scroll down, the three texts become more challenging, but all consist of a passage and then written answers. If possible, please discuss your answers with somebody at home prior to writing them down.
